It depends on the individual vehicle. Over the years, La Strada has built campervans on a variety of base vehicles, including Ford and Mercedes-Benz chassis. Most are plated at 3,500kg or under, which most category B licence holders can drive, but it’s always worth checking. If you passed your driving test after 1 January 1997, you won’t automatically hold category C1 entitlement for anything above 3,500kg.
